We mostly relied on recommendations from acquaintances. Then we usually obtained one offer first and, based on this offer, obtained a second one. I believe they adjust the prices depending on the workload. I hope I have understood your question correctly.

I thought maybe it’s interesting for some people because it’s about a lot of money you can save. For people who are unsure, there are building inspectors; as far as I know, there are even some from DEKRA, you just have to look around a bit. The prices vary greatly. After searching for a long time, we had a contact that would not have cost 10,000 and would have accepted every trade. Still better than giving architects and general contractors multiples of that money.

Of course, we did not conduct a public tender as private individuals but went directly to the companies.

I found it optimal. If you take it into your own hands, besides your job you also need some time to inquire about everything. And it became very apparent that everyone wants to sell what is best for them.. so it’s not bad to be well informed. My motto on the internet: if a company, for example, sells geothermal energy as the be-all and end-all, you should be somewhat skeptical.

Unfortunately, today many builders feel "natural" about playing a juror in "Germany is looking for the super contractor" and inviting all possible bidders who don’t flee fast enough to the casting. And they see it as a challenge for the bidders to be the cheapest – ideally so that the bricklayer already pays for the chimney with the price difference :-( Even here I talk myself hoarse and desperately drill thick planks: often people complain (and justify the shotgun blast of inquiries by saying they have to compensate for the lack of response rate) – instead of increasing the return of offers by only asking as many bidders as one can personally contact.

We went personally to every company. That way I also see right away who I’m dealing with. If the company is already sloppy ... I agree with you in everything. Much also depends on certain forums where self-proclaimed specialists and those with personal interests convince people of things that are beyond good and evil.
