Hi,
No, but the heating technician shouldn't screw me over with completely exaggerated hardware prices.
If he offers me a certain package from Vaillant for 12,500 euros on the quote and I find the same package (same EAN number!) online from reputable dealers for 6,500-7,000 € and they even refer to an RRP of 11,500 €, I feel a bit fooled.
He can gladly shop there himself and add a margin for the incredible effort of a few mouse clicks (which he has just as much with the always highly praised "local wholesalers"). But not double the price!
The good people only give a warranty on their own work anyway; material defects are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
You don’t really believe that he pays any wholesaler 12,500 euros while he can get the stuff elsewhere for half the price, do you???? And if he is that crazy, I’d rather not let him near my heating system...
And about ordering online and having it installed:
That’s called installation service and is now offered by some online retailers.
Hopefully, this will create quite some pressure in the market in the medium term.
Best regards,
Andreas
You order the stuff on the internet and the heating technician is supposed to install it for you with a warranty?
