Hi,

No, but the heating technician shouldn't screw me over with completely exaggerated hardware prices.
If he offers me a certain package from Vaillant for 12,500 euros on the quote and I find the same package (same EAN number!) online from reputable dealers for 6,500-7,000 € and they even refer to an RRP of 11,500 €, I feel a bit fooled.
He can gladly shop there himself and add a margin for the incredible effort of a few mouse clicks (which he has just as much with the always highly praised "local wholesalers"). But not double the price!
The good people only give a warranty on their own work anyway; material defects are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

You don’t really believe that he pays any wholesaler 12,500 euros while he can get the stuff elsewhere for half the price, do you???? And if he is that crazy, I’d rather not let him near my heating system...

And about ordering online and having it installed:
That’s called installation service and is now offered by some online retailers.
Hopefully, this will create quite some pressure in the market in the medium term.

Best regards,

Andreas

No, you simply look for suitable offers on the relevant portals.
For example, the following offer BEFORE funding

or from Daikin BEFORE funding

These offers actually sound tempting. Do you know anyone who has taken advantage of one of them?

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be such an offer in southern Germany... Can anyone help?

No. I prefer to install it myself rather than hire a craftsman.

The prices currently quoted by the installer for heat pumps including installation are quite outrageous. ... At this point in the draft, there was a rant about installers, both local and the big nationwide pressure teams. ... Since I have to work (argue) with them every day, I'll leave it at: and are right.

Whether the offers he mentioned lead to a well and efficiently running heat pump, I dare to doubt - but that is not due to the price. You can get junk installed for 50k as well if you have no clue.

I can only advise everyone to gather good information before awarding contracts of this magnitude or to find a competent (!) and neutral (!) consultant in the field of heating technology and heat pumps.
Those who can do it themselves can quickly save half a year's salary here (well, in this forum a month's salary). Everyone else can at least avoid unnecessary expenses.

It's not that simple with the manufacturer's warranty, nor is it the case that the craft business just passes it on.
The removal of the defective device, possibly a temporary solution, and the installation of the new device are at least partly the responsibility of the installer, not the manufacturer. Additionally, there are more or less complex clarifications and the risk that such a warranty can simply be denied for any number of reasons.

And this already makes it clear that the private individual can only be wished good luck in the event of a warranty claim. No one from Vaillant will come rushing with a new heating system in tow.

Whether that justifies the prices... probably not. On the other hand, we have a market economy and too few craftsmen. Supply and demand, no one is forced to buy.
