Damn, now I can't edit anymore, whatever...

Our half is the right one, we have more garden than the left half, we have exactly the sunny gap due to the development in the south. And lucky us - actually, a triplex was supposed to be built on the plot - it obviously didn't sell, so it became a semi-detached house and we came in just right.

Hehe, it was similar for us too, expressed interest at the right time and got the contract.

P.S. actually luck with your [Grund und Boden] seems to be one of the best.

We could have also built two stories, but we simply like 1.5 stories much better all around, especially from the outside. In our region, most people seem to feel the same... Out of 43 houses in the new development area, definitely 30 are 1.5 stories, and it can't be due to the costs, some are huge houses.

We are not allowed to have two stories. We are allowed up to 1.5. Ridge height up to 4.5 m. Roof pitches between 25 and 45. No flat and shed roofs. The terrain must remain untouched, floor slabs must be centered. So neither just filling up nor just digging down. Tiles or concrete roof tiles without glazes, facade open, wood, plaster, brick are all fine. Floor area ratio 0.25. Plots at least 510, at most 810. I would say bungalow to gable or hipped roof stories 50-50.

We once had a semi-detached house, two stories, on a small plot. Maybe garden-side and the 3 meters (+3 meters from the neighbor) sideways like in the photo: the house overwhelmed us every day. Cozy or comfortable feeling was lost a lot in the garden. And with all due love for Bauhaus with the two stories (if we could have gotten plots): those massive walls next to you, let’s say 6 meters distance or less to the wall... the house overwhelms you. And from next door, twice as fast and twice as long shadows come towards you and wear you down.

I just had to think of the intro of the series "Weeds". Just type "weeds intro" on YouTube.
