In all these epidemiological simulations of virus spread, particles with certain random and/or deterministic movement patterns move through space, and there is always a probability of transmission from infected particles to healthy particles upon a collision of the trajectories. I programmed something like this myself in earlier times.
My construction site self-performed work category does not hit a single particle and does not endanger any. My stationary balcony trajectory, on the other hand, is even endangered by the chain-smoker trajectories sitting on the balcony below, whose smoke clouds could certainly soon be Covid-laden as well. My shopping trajectory is really critical, as the trajectories of too many other particles in a confined space are not considerate about keeping distance.
And from self-proclaimed toilet paper and pasta hoarders like , I’m not taking any moral lectures here.
