Wtf - I fumble around on the tablet with "edit" for a quarter of an hour entering the links, and then a message pops up saying I exceeded a time limit - and everything is gone... Well, maybe tomorrow then... Regarding the statics: I hope the thicker wall is sufficient there - and that the architect would have noticed otherwise...

With the high number of people, everything that is supposed to happen in the house must be very efficient. I do not see that here with the main entrance with a mini cloakroom, with the allocation of storage to the too small kitchen (the dining area is big enough), with the number and distribution of the bathrooms, and with laundry handling (that belongs where the laundry is generated). The living room is penalized by the garage wall and conveys a blinders feeling. The idea of use after the children move out is understandable, but ultimately only tailored to close family members. With other people, one usually prefers not to live so closely together on their own property later. WD

Hello and thank you very much for the assessment.

Regarding the cloakroom: it is mainly for guests – our jackets and shoes should go into the storage room. This can be reached quickly from the driveway with groceries, but the house side would be too dark for the kitchen-living area, right?
Regarding the kitchen size: should we make the ground floor office smaller, or where would you take the space from?
Bathrooms: wouldn’t one bathroom per floor be enough? There will also be pipes in the attic so that we can open bathroom 4 if necessary. What would be your suggestion?
Living room: what do you mean by "penalized"? This is the last complete wall for cabinets, piano, and possibly TV. Would you move the garage further back so that there is still a window?
Laundry: the shaft is close to the washing machine... what would be better here?

Thanks,
Frank

You are planning for 6 people plus guests.
For that, the (main) solution in the storage room is not practical, also considering the reality of living with children. Additionally, because of the rather small kitchen, you need a corresponding storage room, then there are also prams and strollers to consider, so you don’t even have to think about the grandparents’ rollator anymore.

The placement of the open-plan kitchen has nothing to do with this at first, it is about the question of where to best place each room taking into account the wishes of the builders and the property.

There is enough space for that, you should integrate the kitchen planning into the planning as soon as possible.

There are more practical solutions, e.g., separating the toilet from the bathroom, and putting washbasins in the children's rooms.

… with blinkers is not nice unless you would plan it like this even without necessity.

And then someone will have to carry all the laundry back up again.

Overall, your planning is not bad, but also not really practical.

Regards
WD

Wardrobe: What would be a concrete alternative?
Storage room: Since the kitchen is located opposite the driveway, you have to either carry all the groceries through the house or transport individual supplies a few meters. At the moment, I still consider the second evil to be the lesser one.
Living room: Is the "blinkers" referring to the closed wall? If so - the garage at the back, window to the living room, and third garage door to the terrace?
Laundry: The bedrooms are upstairs - should the washing machine and utility room also be placed there? There won't be enough space for that...
