Cover panels for Ikea Metod wall cabinet 80x60 too long?

I need a quick piece of information. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything using the search function...
I have a pair of Metod wardrobe side panels (Förbättra) for the sides and a decorative strip for the front.
However, the side panels are 20 cm longer than the wardrobe is tall. Do they need to be shortened or did I buy the wrong ones?
The decorative strip, on the other hand, is only about 6-8 cm, I estimate.

You did not buy the wrong one, the shortest deck side is 86cm high. So just shorten it at the top.

You were told something wrong. Maybe he/she had 80 cm high cabinets in mind at that moment.

Haha, we went through that recently too. Additionally, two employees claimed that the kitchen must not end with the dishwasher, there always has to be a cabinet on either side, and asked how we could even think of fixing the whole thing with a cover panel, "like what kind of idiots are you to have put this together."

The kitchens are great, but there are still quite a few things IKEA should improve.

There are always differences between "can" and "must". There are plenty of good reasons why the dishwasher should not be placed at the end. It does not have to be placed in the middle. There are houses with a high complaint rate because of this, which as a working method no longer plan the kitchen that way.
