I think I'm giving up on the whole photovoltaic project....it's just frustrating how people try to rip others off...just because the topic of photovoltaics is currently "in".

Just forget the romance with the specialist company next door. Photovoltaics is a volume business. The mentioned forum and the companies represented there have an excellent reputation and operate partly nationwide. We ourselves were extremely satisfied with sunforfree (Troisdorf), the distance was absolutely no problem. Installing a bungalow is really no big deal.

Customers often don't even notice when the charging power is reduced via the BMS just because €30 were saved on the wiring in a small part.

That's true. Only that I have had the experience of finding good quality at a fair price locally. Your general statement "local=expensive" is simply wrong.
