Hello,
the topic was explained to me by the plumber and kitchen installer as follows: In the cooking/dining/living area we have a wood stove. With a vented range hood we definitely need a window contact and must open the window every time. Without controlled residential ventilation, a vented range hood was strongly recommended because with recirculating range hoods odors and moisture are not removed well. The controlled residential ventilation now runs supportively for the removal of moisture and odors and I can rely on a recirculating range hood. And accordingly, I also do not need a window contact.
