Viessmann also recommended in the field of air-water heat pumps? It feels like every heating installer in my area works exclusively with Viessmann :/

Our neighbors have a Viessmann air-to-water heat pump.

So far they are satisfied. The outdoor unit is not loud either. As neighbors, we can judge that, of course.

I have nothing negative to report about Viessmann, including regarding the air-to-water heat pump. A project that I accompanied last year was built with exactly that air-to-water heat pump because the planner offered it. The builders are still completely satisfied.

What should also be mentioned: definitely use the controlled residential ventilation with an enthalpy heat exchanger and, ideally, filters that can be cut from the roll yourself. Things like the piping, etc., are completely overrated. You can basically use whatever is lying around or is available.

And the most important thing with all the technology in the house, whether it concerns heating, ventilation, or air conditioning: the executing company must know the technology/manufacturer and be able to install it without problems. There are often small details that can strongly influence the result, and if you don’t know the tricks because you have never installed this system before, it might not end well.

We also find it extremely difficult to trust the heating company here... I simply don’t dare to "plan" the system myself – after all, I have to trust my general contractor (GU) or the trade.

At our last conversation, the GU said something like: "Yes, our company xx is great and installs Viessmann air-to-water heat pumps with ventilation systems daily in many multi-family houses, etc. He also does everything perfectly! What I find bad, however, is that the boss of company xx does not personally do the building acceptance, but I (i.e., the boss of our GU) have to do the acceptance of the heating system." That made me a bit suspicious... I’m somehow scared that I can’t build trust and that my heating installer will install crap for me.

You don’t have to plan anything yourself. There are people who have the relevant expertise for that, and you are also buying it.

Of course, you have to be there at the acceptance and put your three crosses, since you are paying. When you buy a car, it is usually not handed over and explained by the boss, but by the employees (as a rule). Let’s leave all the special cases aside.

To gain trust, you can simply do some research with those who are customers of the mentioned company. In my experience, people are talkative and like to share where things are not going well.
