Here comes the next thing. We have 2 corner windows, so in the upper floor I will also need a second support in 3 weeks. But instead of manufacturing and sending two right away, only one is coming along with 2m leftover of the steel profile that is currently lying at our construction site... I was told it is waste and was therefore dumped with us. I then asked why don’t you use it for the other support!? Now they want to pick it up again... no words

Of course, not every item is included... but this support is part of it...

Who delivered the support? The construction company or the distillery/steel supplier? The steel supplier processes one order after another and does not necessarily know that the order for construction company Y, which came 3 days after the first one, is for the same house. It is also difficult for the process. I think it's good that you get the leftover piece. Normally you pay a lot of money for the cut and the rest is gone. If the construction company cuts it themselves, yes then they are stupid.

The construction company could just order two supports, right? You also buy a water tank for the whole week and not just for one day.

The construction company commissioned a steel fabricator who in turn apparently had delivery difficulties with his supplier...

Every time it costs money when so much waste remains, the delivery to the construction site also costs money again... And our construction company has to issue two orders, which is more effort for them. Why not order two supports in time? Then the steel fabricator can make two supports from the 3m pipe and only has to deliver to our construction site once.

10 weeks of scaffolding is very tight. Even more so with self-construction. 1000€ for 21 days is also way too expensive. But there is definitely something wrong here. I hope you have considered a buffer for this quite respectable construction mode to cushion such events.

no but I order my steel when I need it. what is needed 2 weeks later I do not order together. that stuff just sits around. yes the steelworker could have made a second cut if he had been commissioned. why he was not commissioned or why he did not make the second cut you will not find out. supply problems are normal. steel is repeatedly unavailable.
