Hm.. as I said, at the beginning we only received inflated offers. Although we also have many regional general contractors here, there is one in every village, but is that real competition?

Firstly, they all have full order books. Secondly, they are tightly interconnected, apparently dividing the construction areas among themselves, hiring the same subcontractors, and subcontracting each other.

Well, as a first reference point, you can also take a look at what a similarly sized house would cost at Town & Country. That is then rather the lower end of what is qualitatively justifiable. About 30% more I would consider normal for correspondingly better equipment and quality, but if a similar house costs more than twice as much, then there must be quite a bit in it to justify that price.
