I brought up the thread 105m garden wall again further down under Garten.
Maybe the threshold wall is also an option for you.

So, a plot behind the house and on the side that could be freely used, we would then still have about 800 sqm plus a generous terrace.

Thank you very much for that. I took a look at it and generally it's a good solution. What immediately came to mind, however, is the children's desire to climb. Since there is a kindergarten terrain directly behind it, I don't know how it would be if children were climbing on it daily, and planting would not be possible either, unless the kindergarten took care of it.

I'm digging up the thread again... in the last few days I also built a 20 m wall made of formwork stones: 0.8 m deep and 0.4 m wide foundation and on top of that 4 rows of formwork stones (50 x 25 x 24 cm). I would now like to fill this 1 m high wall up to 0.8-0.9 m on my side with soil.

Would you recommend anything for or rather against moisture damage? Bitumen coating and dimpled membrane for the part of the wall that will be filled with soil as well as a cover plate to protect against moisture from above?

Did you build the wall and the foundation with steel? I believe a 1-meter wall can be backfilled like that, if I remember correctly. But it's best to check the notes from your stone manufacturer here.

Otherwise, apply bitumen and you're done. The dimple membrane is supposed to improve water drainage, but I've often heard that it's unnecessary for a garden wall. The bitumen makes it waterproof, and as long as you don't backfill and compact thick sharp stones directly against the wall, the bitumen layer won't be damaged.
Capstones on top and you're done.

Proper steel was incorporated into the foundation and wall. Can you recommend a coating? The selection is huge. Backfilling is done only with the existing stone-free soil. Additional drainage gravel is probably somewhat oversized.

I always use 2k bitumen sealant here from the local hardware store from MEM. I don't know if there are big differences but I don't think so. As mentioned, dimpled membrane is a matter of design and in my opinion not necessary for a garden wall. For a cellar yes, because of the insulation but it is not living space anyway.
