The "necessary" skulduggery can easily be completely organized into the privatized procedural parts

We have now been to a total of five regional turnkey construction companies, one nationwide, and one prefabricated house builder.

Except for the company mentioned in the first post, we have received or will receive offers from all six others. Just as a little interim update.

The offers are all very concrete - including multi-page service descriptions and separately itemized incidental construction costs. All classified as complete and serious by a friendly architect.

It's always the same - no one wants to hear that in the initial euphoria. When we were considering building, we also visited a prefab house seller and a general contractor and of course didn't have a plot of land yet. We first wanted to know what a house with everything as desired actually costs.

When we then specifically looked at plots of land, we quickly realized that it is really stupid to plan a house without a plot. But some experiences everyone has to make for themselves.
