Roughly, one assumes 55 liters of buffer volume per kW of heating output of the biomass boiler.
If the heat pump also uses the buffer, it should be rather larger.
A larger storage tank costs only insignificantly more money and space.
I am currently installing a 1500 liter hygienic storage tank, 20 m² collector area, and a 10 kW pellet stove
without heat pump or gas condensing boiler.
