How would you proceed in this case? What would you agree to, or what compromise should be found here?
One can imagine a financial split.
And now I'm supposed to say: Yes, let's just do 50/50 and that's that?
Your solution is already there.
That should of course not be the goal. Well, let's see how the conversation goes. If no proper solution-oriented approach is pursued, then the bill simply won't be paid for now - that's it.
I have the impression that you are rather looking for approval of your position than an exchange on what others would do in this case.
This went wrong due to a lack of communication - however definitely on the part of the civil engineering company
On a Friday evening, the representative of the site manager (the site manager was unfortunately on vacation) was supposed to come by for a discussion with the general contractor on site. During the appointment, he called and said he could not come... So, on the phone, we then discussed everything further together with the general contractor and the structural engineer. It was said all the time: "For him, it is clear what is supposed to happen."
From the description it is clear that no proper clarification of the order took place. This is the responsibility of
all parties involved. As a client, being satisfied with a "it is clear what is supposed to happen" and not asking clarifying questions is a communicative risk that lies solely with the client. "The other is to blame," "I am right" kindergarten stuff.
