Hello everyone,
the basement of my house is now built. For several days I have been thinking about how to plan the furniture and the kitchen. I am afraid that 43m2 is far too small.
There is no furniture included in our architect’s plan. Therefore, I took the trouble to create one with Sweethome 3D.

Question:
- what do you think of 43m2?
- which plan do you like best?
- what would you do differently?

THANK YOU for your opinions.

Post the architect's plan. I wonder how someone can beat around the bush with such a basic question when the basement is already built. 43m2 is indeed not spacious, especially in the tube shape with the entrance in the middle.

Hi,
oh, that is almost exactly like in my case ( , just mirrored or rotated.
You have a bit more depth, whereas I have more width.
We are now planning with an L-shaped kitchen and a large dining table in the middle. Although I will try to push it as far into the kitchen as possible without obstructing, so that the passage from the living room door to the terrace door is reasonably walkable without dance moves.
It is important to carefully coordinate the opening direction of the terrace windows with the walkways and parking spaces...

Take the correct measurements for the table. Variant 1 and 3 do not work. 2 might work. The minimum measurement is 80cm depth Wall - table edge For example, if the table is 90 wide you need 250 cm. This means no one can get past an occupied chair without squeezing and pulling in their stomach. Please upload the entire floor plan. 43 sqm is very small.

Your table is 70 wide, if I haven't miscounted. I wouldn't go below 85 at all. 75 for a sofa is also risky. You tend to tip off more easily. Ours is about 95cm. The kitchen should have at least 2 tall cabinets for fridge and oven. I would continue planning with VAR 2. The seating island seems unnecessary anyway. I can only reproach you for approaching the house construction completely unplanned. Show me the rest to see if anything still needs fixing.
