Anyone building new must have their building application approved by the deadline of 31.12.2020. Then there is still the latest move-in date of 31.12.2023.

I understand it this way: Anyone who doesn't manage to move in in 2020 cannot submit an application and consequently does not receive any money.

As Goalkeeper already wrote, you have until the end of 2023 (theoretically, if the funding pot is still sufficient), but must apply for the funds within 6 months after moving in. The building permit from the end of 2020 is relevant, which is probably given in your case.

So if you build in a new development area, there is often an exemption procedure. After 4.5 weeks, we received the notification that we are allowed to build. So I would still try to get it done without cheating.

But that also depends a lot on the respective building regulations office. In some municipalities, they almost resist exemption procedures, but a call there can bring clarity.

The deadline for Baukindergeld has been extended until 31.03.2021.
