Sorry but I thought that one could discuss constructively here and that someone might come up with a different idea. Just because someone wants to solve it differently doesn't mean everything is pointless...

He will still find a good solution! In this spirit....

First of all, the PC in the office does not take up space - you would need a separate room. The PC in the office is simply wired - with a separate server room and four required monitors additional wiring is necessary. The PC in the office is whisper quiet - maybe no-name computers are a bit loud. But a decent computer is not audible under the desk or wherever in the office. I myself also sit with three computers and three monitors in the home office - ThinkPad is silent and directly connected to my employer's data center. Plus two monitors. Then the private computer with corresponding silent fans and one monitor as well as a data server for all media (photos/videos/data). Everyone can access this via LAN and WLAN. I would never think of looking for a separate room for this, as it improves work exactly 0. At most, putting the data server in my server cabinet, where the router, switch, etc. are also located. But that's probably your attitude/your wish. Then you should get a network professional who plans the technical infrastructure for the house for you and also equips it with appropriate technology/software.

In the end, it's your hobby. Rick described that quite well. But still, there are people here who don't think your solution is the best/most practical.

And what somewhat confuses me is the following: Rick is tech-savvy and therefore spends quite a lot of money on his hobby (okay, the overall project is also in the luxury segment). For me, that fits the overall picture. Bauhaus/high-tech villa (this is not meant negatively). Installing technology worth tens of thousands of euros as a hobby fits somehow. Especially because Rick basically explains to us how things work at that point.

With you, I currently have the feeling that you want to fit such a solution into a single-family house with 150 m², and the solutions you actually need/want probably cost multiple times your PC. Therefore, it is viewed more critically right away because the proportions are different.

Sorry, you write that you work with such things in the company. Then you must also know how it works? The fact that no one else does it might be because it doesn’t make sense for at home. Otherwise, google Thinclients, that should be exactly what you want. For the cheap version, use RDP and some mini-PC that can drive the desired number of monitors.

I am a big fan of Jens’ YouTube channel (Austrian Gamerstech / AGTech). He does a lot of virtualization on powerful Dell servers (e.g. rendering). Maybe you’ll find the inspiration you want there.

what you are looking for is probably something like "Wireless HDMI." As far as I am uninformed, it is not yet established in the consumer market.
But the advantage is certainly the transmission of image and sound without cables to appropriate monitors.
I also don’t know if there are solutions for this where, possibly, one PC can supply multiple monitors with different images.

For me, however, a certain "stumbling block" remains the following scenario: quickly connecting a USB stick or USB device (mobile hard drive, camera, phone, ...) to the work computer. That would no longer work with an "outsourced" computer.

Otherwise, I would think of power-saving PCs that are supplied via Google Stadia / Cloud Gaming.

edit:
I was one of the first to have a Steam Link back then. Used it a few times to stream from PC to TV. I don’t even know if it’s still available?

Thank you very much for the answers. I suspect that ThinClient with Remote or appropriate software will be the suitable solution. In the end, it does not cost more than 1000€.
