We had the Sureflap retrofitted into a floor-to-ceiling window. The glazier replaced the entire glass element for this.
It also works with a chip, so it only lets our cat through. I don’t know if that always works without side effects in practice — so far she didn’t go through but had her human open the terrace door.
Whether this has a negative effect on our ventilation system or our exhaust hood I can’t say. I haven’t noticed any. And whether the poor seal of this tiny flap causes an additional 5 EUR in heating costs per year honestly doesn’t matter much to me. It hasn’t been noticeably cold near the flap this winter either.
