If the tight budget fits in the end, you have done everything right. BUT: If you are not that young anymore, or don’t live in the countryside (where everyone knows everyone or everyone is somehow related ), or you have a family with a child to take care of or whatever, then the plan no longer works. Wish you much success. I’m one of those do-it-yourselfers myself ;)

Because this 2 years of slogging after work is very likely more ideologically driven, then takes much longer (because the cheap contacts are not spontaneously available or cannot be positioned in the planned logistics), and this slogging can lead to you having more health problems after these 25 years than the one who makes you work. but I have always liked being the craftsman myself. Only the disadvantages must also be mentioned sometimes. Theory is very patient. Guess what my 5-year-old granddaughter still has planned ;)

I have neither children nor other obligations and live with my parents, so no stress if it takes longer.

:
And as to whether I’ll suffer damage in 25 years because I worked hard for 2 years, I seriously doubt it. A bricklayer, carpenter, etc. have to do that every day for 30-40 years, sure many are not in their best physical shape afterwards, but that’s also 20 times the amount of time ;)
from that perspective it’s simply nonsense. I don’t do everything myself, I have a few people on the construction site and for some tasks I need a company, for example to cut the construction timber, although I will cut my own wood myself, I have to have the boards & beams cut at a sawmill, just like installing windows, heating, screed installation, for the rest I should have people.

You should think _further_ and simply use the remarks for that. It is simply not the exception that people who are not used to physical work either just give up after 3 months or are thrown off course by lumbago, injuries, or "back" problems. Mom can make you compresses, but then you have to carry on, or the person who can.

And a good hour later…

…and already “worked a lifetime” at 25.

Great conditions for a successful project.
You basically get almost all the materials at half price and manpower is free too, except for a few trades.
Take half price on EVERYTHING, then it will work out.

Please report here every 2-3 months “about the current state of affairs” (like with XY), everyone here is interested.
