Buying a house renovated 2 years ago, what else should we pay attention to?

The two are buying the house next door because they need a little more space. The house they are buying now has just under 230 sqm [WF], in the basement apartment downstairs she wants to set up her office for self-employment.

If the house, location, price, and trustworthiness are right, you can't go wrong. Even if you are unlucky and some damage should become apparent after a short time and it then costs something, you still made a very good deal. So ultimately, there is much more to gain than to lose. I wouldn't hesitate for long. What is supposed to come out of it - a renegotiation of the price? As a seller, I wouldn't be interested and would possibly look for an easier buyer.

A good reason, that is understandable. I would buy the house immediately if the price is right. If in doubt, take an expert who can assess important things like moisture in the basement and the roof.

Yes, a plausible reason. Strange (to me) only that it appears two years after a complete renovation. So "strange" in the sense of: why was the space requirement underestimated two years ago? I wouldn't suspect anything bad behind it now. I'm just wondering .... Or the self-employment is doing well – or is new – and the space requirement has therefore increased.

I’m also wondering, especially about the sudden need for space. Go in with an appraiser, and everything will be fine :)

Maybe I am naive. But if I had skeletons in the closet, I wouldn't necessarily pin the blame on acquaintances, but on strangers  I’m keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out :)
