Buying a house renovated 2 years ago, what else should we pay attention to?

Well, maybe about 2 years ago there was no other option available and back then one had to take it. And now the opportunity arises with the larger neighboring house for the sellers.

In England, that would be completely normal. You buy the house that is currently on the market in your desired location. If you find something more suitable, you just move. And if that is after 2 years - shouldn’t you take the opportunity just because the renovation was done recently? We always think that buying a house is "for eternity".

One does not sell a house with hidden defects and continue living in the neighborhood. That would be extremely unwise.

What is that thing supposed to cost in the "Schauerland" (MärkischerKreis?) ;)

I also find that understandable. Therefore, talk to the sellers. The motto: hey, we are very interested, would like to go through it once with the expert, just for our peace of mind. But only if it is necessary for you.

When you compare the additional purchase costs of England and Germany, it immediately becomes clear why no one in Germany changes houses spontaneously. Up to 10% of the purchase price simply vanish here.
