Buy an uninsulated house? Does it make sense?

Blown-in insulation is cheap and effective. Roof insulation you do again, windows you just have to see. If the old ones are tight and you like them, you can also keep them. An old house doesn’t become airtight just because of new windows, and with some insulation the wall won’t become a condensation victim either. Does the size and floor plan fit? The small settlement houses are often quite simple with many walkthrough rooms and slanted ceilings on the upper floor. I would also renew the electrical, water, and sanitary areas directly.

I have a house with quite similar key data. Also in Hamburg.

So, I replaced the windows (double-glazed) and the heating system. That means all pipes and radiators including the gas boiler.
Roof, walls, intermediate ceiling are all not insulated.

I pay about 120EUR monthly (including 20EUR provision) for gas costs. My lady just likes it nice and warm.
It’s not cheap, but an extensive energy renovation doesn’t really pay off for us.

How expensive is the house supposed to be? And which area in Hamburg?

Insulation is by far not just about "paying off". Warm walls make a house significantly more comfortable to live in ... radiant cold is simply unpleasant. That's why 24 degrees room temperature in an old building only feels as warm as 21 degrees in a new building....

Wow! First of all, many thanks to everyone for the lively participation. I will try to answer a few questions, add details
[*]It is an old house with charm but thanks to an extension from the 80s there is enough space and especially in combination with the location and the plot it is a suitable property for us. [*]The floor plan fits on the upper floor with slight adjustments, on the ground floor we will practically do almost everything new anyway, but it offers enough options. [*]The exterior walls are plastered, not brick. Therefore no cavity or similar. [*]We are actually considering replacing the windows. However, "only" for aesthetic/functional reasons. Energy saving is probably hardly affected because of the uninsulated walls. So it is with mixed feelings, since they are still in very good condition and the overall ecological balance is not good. [*]The base slab (no basement) is presumably(!) partially insulated. We will only know more when we remove the floor. Whether it makes sense to insulate there and maybe even install a large-area underfloor heating is definitely an open question we are happy to consider. [*]My mother-in-law is an architect with a lot of experience in existing buildings. So we feel very well advised in terms of expertise (just as an example: new windows and dew point). But a professional thinks more in terms of a "challenging task" rather than expressing a subjective opinion. [*]At first glance, there is nothing significant to criticize about the substance (stone walls, roof, and wood), likewise the heating system is still quite new and the pipes look okay. New radiators are firmly planned, but not necessarily completely new pipes.
I hope that was all the info that was still missing at the moment. Thanks again for the lively participation. If you have any more thoughts, we are of course happy to read them as well.

The actual problem that new windows bring in old buildings is usually incorrectly assessed by architects...
