You can install a simple stove yourself. These are standardized pipes that are only plugged together and sealed at the chimney; there is a special part for this that is inserted into the chimney. You can get the material for this at the hardware store. Whether it is room air-independent or room air-dependent you have to clarify with the chimney sweep. If you have a large room and no controlled residential ventilation, room air-dependent may be sufficient. I would always install a wood-burning stove because it simply creates a great atmosphere. And in the transition period, it delays turning on the heating. Ours is still only for hot water.

That was also my information.

That would apply.

Yes, who knows what else is coming.

We have drinks stocked for about 2 weeks. But that's more due to laziness to constantly run to the beverage dealer. Then the power is suddenly gone. That’s annoying, but not necessarily life-threatening.

We assembled it ourselves in the following order: ask [Schorni] what is allowed to be done, what we need for a stove. Since our open living area is open to the hallway, that was sufficient for a room air-dependent stove. Then we bought the stove, connected it, and had it inspected. You really don’t need a professional for that. It is important that the stove meets Stage II of the Federal Immission Control Ordinance.

If a room air-dependent one is sufficient, and you get one, then I would do it in your place.

...and if you get wood. I would clarify that beforehand, otherwise the nicest stove is useless. In and around Munich, for example, almost all dealers are sold out. And those who still have some are asking sky-high prices for it. Prices of up to €500 per Ster are being asked. And paid.

Otherwise, check classified ads. Wood is often sold privately.
