Without the pipe -> against regulations. So he is not allowed to build it like that. I don’t see any additional costs here. Unfortunately: in practice, it’s not worth discussing this for longer than an hour for the "low but outrageous and inexplicable" 100 euro additional price.

That's exactly how I saw it too. It would be a pointless discussion because on the phone they argued that the DIN norm contradicts itself in parts (pipe obligation VS no 90° angles) - she literally said on the phone "but you are allowed to be BETTER than the norm, that's why we omit the pipe."
