Hello everyone,
I have the following question regarding a planned carport.
When the house and garage were planned, we had already included a carport between the house and garage in the building application. The whole thing is supposed to be just under 5 meters wide and just under 6 meters deep. It was originally planned as a flat roof.
However, since our garage has a pitched roof, we now want to have the carport built with a pitched roof as well. This should then be integrated at a 90-degree angle into the garage roof.
The question we are now asking ourselves is: Do we even need a new application for the change in roof shape, since carports up to 50 sqm are anyway exempt from approval in Saxony-Anhalt?
There is an exception criterion of a maximum wall height of 3 meters. The wall itself will only be about 2.4 meters high, and then the roof truss will be on top. The ridge height is then 4.1 meters. Do I comply with the 3-meter height limit or does the ridge count here?
Attached is a small sketch.
