You are all stuck in the past and want to impose your old-fashioned life on the youth. The boy is simply being practical for the future. With the expected global warming that we are causing, soon no one will need thick jackets and boots anymore. There is also room for a few thin jackets and some slippers in the small hallway. With some comments, you wonder how some families can survive in rental apartments.

Well, you can look at it this way; if they already want to build 'Forever' now; then you also need the space that a family with teenagers will eventually need and all the stuff that accumulates.

Or you say to yourself, you go through different stages in life anyway and therefore different housing situations... the OP probably wants to get it right the first time.

Of course, you could also build a house designed so that it can be extended or built up later, with the most flexible room concept possible where you only put in partition walls later if needed.

The foundation slab is now in place and the house will arrive on January 25th :-) I think I missed some questions / suggestions. If there are any questions, please ask them again or quote them. Thank you!

Sounds good.
May everything go as planned ... and what doesn’t go well, be calmly "steered for the better" ....

Congratulations :)

Has it remained with the published floor plan or were there a few optimizations?
