The point is that a company has to approve your installation. For that, they first have to be willing, because they are responsible for what you have done.

Whether you have to inquire in advance - one cannot say in general.

Hello,

Why not, that can be clarified with a simple building inquiry!!

By the way, don’t let yourself be confused! I have built two sturdy buildings myself with almost 99% self-labor (self-construction entrepreneur) and today I supervise various self-building projects in my region.
However, there are some traps waiting for the inexperienced builder, e.g.:

1. Time: For self-construction, a factor of 2.5...4 depending on craftsmanship skills must usually be calculated.
2. Skilled contractor declaration!
3. Safety-relevant issues can only be realized by "authorized" persons.
4. The biggest savings effect can be achieved with the "closed shell structure."

Conclusion: Self-construction only after thorough consultation and construction supervision! Otherwise, it will become a money pit and hardly any of the originally expected savings will remain, except frustration!

Best regards

Thanks, I also have a feeling that most people I talk to want to talk me out of it.

Can you please explain to me what 2. Specialist contractor declaration! is.
Is it some kind of permit for self-build?
If yes, how and where do you do that?

And what do you mean here with

Which safety-relevant issues are those?
Statics?

Thanks

There are reasons for that, some of which are justified. But with self-construction, significant savings can be made (VAT, profit shares, etc. on assembly services), provided that sufficient planning (building, technical building equipment) is available. Self-construction is rather hindered than promoted in Germany! Why, everyone can consider for themselves.
The necessary building approval requires (regionally different) that especially "safety-relevant" topics are confirmed by specialist contractors. This concerns in particular gas and electrical! How to handle that, gladly via PM!
Building application, statics, sound and fire protection, gas if required, electrical...

best regards

We are also doing almost the entire interior construction of our house ourselves. But you have to know your limits – that is my opinion. And you simply can't be good at everything. I originally trained in an electrical profession, but I have now been "out" of it for several years. To be able to do the entire electrical installation myself and to comply with all the standards, I studied a book with around 600 pages – and I actually read about 75% of it. You can save a lot – I agree with that. But you can also do a lot wrong. Aside from that: you better not count the time! On the other hand, I have seen a lot of **** from tradesmen on other construction sites. If you do it yourself, as long as you comply with the common standards, you can often achieve a better result. In short: I don’t want to discourage anyone, but you should be aware of the gravity of the matter!

Here begins the most common misconception. The most significant savings effects are achieved with the closed shell construction! In interior construction, both the competing demands of the individual trades, as well as the time factor and the professional requirements, are disproportionately effective.
Yes, you have to calculate the time; therefore, many DIY projects dissolve on their own at this point!
That is also correct; the lack of perfection in execution is certainly substitutable, but at the cost of time!
