Hello Thomas, I think it partly also depends on the execution. Are you building solid or with a wooden frame construction? Do you want a solid masonry garage or a prefabricated garage? We built solid with a solid garage. We had it built at the same time. The garage has a flat roof that was poured together with the ground floor ceiling of the house. The electrical distribution was taken into account right away. Water and especially wastewater as well. The construction site also did not have to be set up separately. It is of course something different if you have a prefabricated garage set with a crane.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that.

Even for a prefabricated garage, you need a foundation, electrical connection, water connection, sewage connection...

The installation itself is of course faster than the conventional construction of a garage, but the preparations, in my opinion, hardly differ from those of a brick garage.

Regards,

Dirk

That is true again

I'll ask the other way around: If the garage still fits into the budget, why wait then?

When I move in, I want to enter the house with dry and clean feet and I need space for the bicycles. Therefore, the garage (and necessary paving work) will be done at the same time. It won't be cheaper later either.

I only mentioned my carport as an example, I would do the same with a garage and only build it when everything else that is usually more important has been completed, but it doesn't matter, it's your build and I think you wanted to hear opinions... however, it seems that the decision has long since been made...

We should have done it right away as well, now I have to search again and request offers. Then everyone wants an appointment to inspect the construction site, which also takes time.

And you need a crane again
+ concrete pump costs money again
Entangled, etc.

And in the end, if the money is there, why not.

I now have 3 offers and will have a 40m long wall done right away.
