Build a single-family house as KfW55 or Efficiency House 70?

I also think that ETICS is not popular solely because of saved wall thickness. But the question regarding KfW70 is also obsolete, since with the binding Energy Saving Ordinance 2016, KfW70 is no longer subsidized for new buildings.

Why, one can only speculate about that – and the assumption, cui bono, can probably be answered by the wallet of the building contractor, is probably not too far off.

Then many building contractors wouldn’t glue ETICS as if they were discount stamps. Just take a look here in the forum at the floor plans, how many exterior walls are shown in two colors – load-bearing interior wall plus insulation boards of roughly the same total thickness as an "exterior wall."

So, out of 10 requested general contractors, 10 built with Ytong. And the only reason is the cost advantage. For an architect, this then plays a subordinate role.
