Unfortunately, yes, it is, he is compensating through price increases and the contract is no longer under the fixed price guarantee... that he "oversold" and currently only sees steel brackets on the outside of the house as a solution is then our (expensive) problem. Since on the other hand I do not want to give up floor-to-ceiling windows, I am therefore looking for other fastening options...

Aha. What disadvantages does Ytong have?
In the 17cm version, compressive strength class PP4, and with the right anchor, it even carries significantly more than a hollow brick.

You will have to live with the consoles. Insulation does not support a French balcony.

An ETICS would sensibly be built with a heavy wall. In single-family houses etc., that would usually be sand-lime brick; in multi-family houses and commercial buildings, concrete. That then has completely different load-bearing values, even without special anchors. And also significantly better values for sound insulation. Ytong is good if you want to build monolithically.

You actually don't need any wall plugs. If the inside is not plastered yet, I would drill completely through the wall and screw from the inside. On the outside, put a spacer sleeve for the ETICS and screw the mesh there.

I happened to get my meshes for 40 Euros at the scrap yard. Wrought iron and galvanized, and they fit exactly. I set them in concrete in the wall. But I have 36 cm Poroton.

Then the plasterer came for an estimate. I was supposed to cut off the meshes and weld them back on after plastering. Indeed. It would have been too much work for him to plaster around them. So I plastered myself and of course left the meshes on.

But again. Ytong only 17 cm, I would go through the wall. Without any wall plugs.

See if your roller shutter manufacturer offers fall protection made of glass. They can integrate that, it then sits under the rail and your wall is left alone....

Wouldn't that create a perfect thermal bridge?
