If you have time and motivation, then buy an existing house. There you can let yourself go with the renovation. Maybe there are sandstone houses in your region?

Try doing that for a week and estimate how many stones you can transport.
And then compare the visual quality of the forest stones with your photo above and try to make them look good.

I have a good friend who owns very large areas of forest, and there are endless sandstone boulders there, which I would be allowed to use. (yes, I am aware that I would have to collect several tons for that, but it somehow worked before)
