Well, the stone is not rough-hewn... stonemasons were definitely active who worked on these stones. You can even see that quite clearly, in my opinion. A quarry must have served as a source and not a forest area.

I have made some attempts in the garden. It also works unhewn. But would a building authority in Germany let that pass?

If you want to make the facade out of natural stone, it just won't be cheap. However, this is often not done by the bricklayer, but by the stonemason. [Bruchsteinhäuser] can be, for example, beautiful. But we are miles away from an inexpensive construction method here.
