The information is sparse. Is this your first offer?

I am aware that there are many ways to build a house, we tend towards brick, just wanted to check whether this is qualitatively high-quality or more of a budget option. We have several offers, but all the others have offered us aerated concrete blocks, the above-mentioned information only refers to the wall structure, of course there is more included...

Our neighbors built with bricks five years ago. They are satisfied. However, there were problems, among other things the fastening of baseboards became problematic. In the end, the house was then wrapped with a [WDVS]. A matter of taste, I would say.

We had a brick wall built in the entrance area of our existing house as an eyecatcher. Brick is not just brick. There are many differences.

If I were you, I would inquire about the stone to be used with the manufacturer.

Ask the people who have already built with your construction company and where it has been at least one winter since they moved in.

Also think about soundproofing. Bricks, as far as I know, = good indoor climate.

We are currently building with Poroton T10 (36.5) without additional insulation. With controlled residential ventilation, LWWP, a wood stove, photovoltaics, and good windows, we easily meet Kfw 70 standards – even without the photovoltaics, it’s no problem. The architect's information is probably sparse because everything can still be discussed and changed according to your wishes. The builder, of course, provides more detailed information as the basis for the contract. Oh yes, I would rather replace the 11.5 cm walls with 17.5 cm bricks or drywall. We have a few of those, and when chiseling slots for electrical work, you can already tell that they simply don’t have the stability of the thicker walls, and depending on what is to be installed later, thicker walls or drywall are recommendable.

We will also build with Poroton and without additional thermal insulation, but we want to use the T8 in 36.5. As Milkie already said, with the appropriate technology you can easily achieve the KFW70 level. For us, this is also without controlled residential ventilation, but only through floor and ceiling insulation. Why do you want Styrofoam on the outside as well?

: You mean with you now? You would no longer recommend 11 cm walls inside?

I also agree with Milkie about the 11cm walls. Very thin if you want to have a water pipe or electrical wiring there. We build with T9 stones. Also 36.5cm and also without insulation. And with a simple air-to-water heat pump + insulation of the floor slab, we easily achieve KFW70 standard.
