Yes, that’s what I mean too. As mentioned, the walls were in good condition, so not much had to be smoothed out. Our neighbor took some photos after the demolition and sent them to me. I don’t understand this generous space waste, and that at every wall.

I told you! However, I can't tell here (in #1) HOW the wall adjustment is supposed to take place, whether with mortar or with drywall. And drywall is by no means an exotic approach (quite the contrary), the mortar variant is rather outdated. No, they are glued onto the existing structure with mortar, these are not drywall walls, but only provide a smooth base for the tiles.

But that is the question here, when suddenly up to 15 cm are missing.

Excuse me? Of course, an even surface without base coats, e.g. Rotband plaster, is more the standard.

Exception: A pre-construction is required due to xyz.

THEN it belongs in the offer, because this is the key to communication.

Proceeding differently than in the offer and losing the needed centimeters WITHOUT a new agreement is unprofessional and calls for compensation.

Here the provider is obliged to announce, because the customer can only inquire about known unknowns, not something completely unknown.

Customer’s mistake? I would have asked for the status twice a week, without a concrete reason. Seems this did not happen here. Lesson learned.

What exactly does the contract say? Are there any witnesses to the conversation about the [Aufputzarmaturen]? If the partition walls were not contractually agreed upon and something else was demonstrably agreed, I would insist on dismantling and correction.
