Encouraged by I am starting my own home thread here. For several months I have been an avid reader, have experienced many interesting, exciting and sometimes unpleasant things in this forum, learned a lot and also shared in the joy/thrill/suffering.
We bought our plot at the end of 2016, planned for a very long time and waited even longer for the building permit, unfortunately over a year. Meanwhile, we have been working on the interior construction for several weeks and due to Corona, it will probably take even longer.
Here again a photo of the model and the original floor plans:

The skylight is already included in the model. Is that a gimmick in the climbing hall that only steps back at about knee wall height on the facade?

I really like the consistent division of the floors. Despite a lot of open space, the attic floor offers a good retreat – also thanks to the bathroom as a "soundproof block." With small children, my wife would have been bothered by the distance to them, I would not. With older children, this is a blessing. Placing the communal living area centrally on the entrance level is a good choice. Below that, children and guests are well accommodated – it creates another wing that is especially suitable for teenagers – a retreat space for everyone. The spa downstairs and the implementation of a climbing hall are wonderful individual boosts to quality of life. Sure, you can measure here and there and move centimeters – the concept is clear, works, and reflects personality. Good architecture. Thanks for showing it. Good that you are not implementing the oversized bottle artworks in the first picture.

That reminds me of a caricature by Gustav Peichl (who was a star architect in his civilian profession himself), where a sketch by a star architect was completely transferred into built reality – including a coffee stain enlarged to the scale of the plan.

The climbing hall is actually a party room / gymnasium for the kids. The setback is one of those architect ideas so that the facade looks nice or something like that...

Thanks... The idea is also that the kids stay with us as long as possible and of course it helps if they have enough space. And if they do want to venture out into the big wide world early on, they always have a pied à terre with us.
