Fingerhaus was ruled out for us after the salesperson mentioned a 15-month waiting time between signing the contract and the installation date(!). However, that was in autumn; it may be different now.

For us, it would have been about 12 months. However, I must say that with almost all companies by now, a similar waiting time is to be expected. With our current solid house developer, we signed the contract in February and construction begins in September.

We were at Fingerhaus exactly one year ago - initially in one of the show houses, where we received comprehensive advice. During this, what we wanted was roughly calculated. Then there was a second consultation appointment with the same advisor directly at the factory, and there our wishes were already almost 20% more expensive. The scope for negotiation was only marginal. We didn't feel any real interest in selling us a house. The order books are full. And a waiting time of well over a year for a house was already factored in back then. One day after our last consultation appointment, I contacted the advisor again by email and asked if he had any ideas on how we could reduce the price a bit. This email was not answered at all. That was the end for Fingerhaus, from whom we never heard anything more. We are now building solidly with a local provider. Best regards Axel

Kampa was quickly out for us. Two show houses, two salespeople, two very different conversation contents. We had the feeling of having talked to two companies.

With Rensch-Haus we had several conversations, but it was not the right company for us.

We wanted a passive house on a not exactly simple plot (slope) and therefore ended up with solid construction quite quickly. First stone on stone, they did not take us seriously or made fun of the wish for a passive house, and we ended up with solid wood. We can recommend the company Wir-Leben-Haus.

But as a general rule, I recommend: always compare with a local solid builder. Overall, we were cheaper with ours than with all the prefabricated house providers! With Keitel-Haus, for example, we planned the house without a basement and without fancy extras. With our local general contractor, including a basement and some gimmicks and extras, it was only 20,000 € more expensive. How that is possible, I wonder too. Well, that was 2016, prices have gone up again since then.

Of course, you also have to wait for the start of construction with mass providers, but you can't move in immediately after the scheduled installation date. There is still at least a quarter of a year for interior work, if not more. Lux is 95% out for us because they have not managed to write an offer for ages. It's a misery. I once thought the difficult part of building a house was finding the land. At least in our town, that is not true.
