Baufritz is a family business from Erkheim (between Memmingen / Mindelheim) - Unterallgäu. Baufritz is an eco house manufacturer that only uses certain materials. In terms of price, definitely a Mercedes. Qualitatively a very good reputation. Since we ourselves built a timber frame house with a carpentry company, based on the experience, today I would prefer a solid wood house. Our mother is building again in old age, and we are building with Kaufmannbau. Formerly a small carpentry company. Meanwhile a name in our region (Biberach, Ulm, Memmingen) - solid wood + eco. All important trades with own employees - thus no interface problems like with the small carpenter who needs other companies for everything else. Kaufmannbau is comparable to the other alternatives in the solid wood area. They also sell the wall + ceiling system to carpentries...

We have a wooden house, a prefab house, but individually planned and built with a family business in the region from the Zimmer-Meister-Haus group. Very satisfied, in our opinion it couldn't be better.

The meat content in the meat salad is often misjudged. Even in the wood frame wall, there is actually more mayonnaise and cucumber.

The insulation values have converged significantly due to the energy saving regulation. The conditions of "back then" with twice as favorable "k-values" at half the wall thickness compared to solid construction (in 1980 still monolithic 30 cm solid brick) no longer apply today.

... is only partially true. With a multi-brand manufacturer, the houses from different sales channels can indeed come from different factories despite having the same shareholders, and in the Lada there are no leather seats at all. The purpose of the multi-brand strategy here is precisely the separation, so that the chief and assistant doctors do not buy "from the same" manufacturer.

Definitely check out Keitel-Haus! They plan individually, eco-friendly, and I know two families who built with them and are really very satisfied. That's rare to find. We also visited them but ended up building with solid construction. But of all the ones we looked at and talked to (Kampa, Schwörerhaus, Luxhaus, Danhaus, Huf...) we received the most honest advice here.
You are also allowed to visit their factory at any time and take a look.

For the first house, we ended up with Stommel Haus from Baufritz about 13 years ago. With Baufritz we had a good feeling, but that quickly faded with the first offer :P Stommel Haus is also owner-managed and the construction back then was extremely relaxed. Everything went well, or if mistakes happened, they were handled exemplarily.

After the construction I said: if building always goes that easy, I would build 5 more times. I see it differently at the moment but that is another story and has nothing to do with Stommel Haus.

During our new searches 3 years ago in show home parks, we therefore excluded Baufritz from the outset, visited Stommel Haus again and also included Meisterstück-Haus in our considerations... They also made a very good impression!

One could probably debate this topic endlessly.

I was in a similar situation and initially also wanted to build a prefabricated house. For months, we visited almost every model home park there is in Germany. If I learned one thing from all these marathon conversations, it is that no offer is really comparable to another. We had intensive discussions with Weberhaus, Fingerhaus, Rensch-Haus, Keitel-Haus, and Hanse Haus.

Weberhaus was by far the most expensive of all providers, but by no means the "best" in the price-performance comparison. Similar with Hanse Haus. High price, comparatively little performance. Keitel-Haus and Fingerhaus were on about the same level. Still high-cost-wise, but with corresponding performance and quality. Especially with Fingerhaus, the construction service description connected with the offer was quite good. Rensch-Haus was the "cheapest" provider but didn’t seem as high-quality to us as, for example, Fingerhaus or Keitel-Haus.

We also visited the factories and the sample studios of three of these companies. There, my initial impressions were confirmed again. In the end, it became a regional company that builds solid construction. Somehow, no prefabricated house company convinced us 100%.

I would advise you to compare with regional solid construction companies, unless there is a reason against it from your perspective. Solid construction does not necessarily have to be more expensive; on the contrary.

But if I had to choose a prefabricated house provider, it would probably be Fingerhaus.
