Base plate with concrete core activation. What is your opinion?

With screed, you can't achieve a U-value of 0.17, right? What is common? 8cm insulation?

One thing has nothing to do with the other... It's like saying that with wallpaper you only get a U-value of 1.

If you layer 20cm insulation with WLG 035, you achieve this value. How this is distributed above/below the floor slab is a matter of economics.

The principle is clear to me. I only read that the Schwedenplatte also achieves this with 20cm WLG 035. That is the standard Schwedenplatte construction.

As a rough comparison, one can use the floor construction with screed. What is common there? Waterproofing membrane, insulation, impact sound insulation, screed?

And how thick is typical there? Also a total of 20cm? I lack experience in that. And in the best case, one uses foil-coated PUR with WLG 022?

I think you can compare that, because the client will rarely interfere and demand a specific construction above the floor slab...?

I’m not quite sure what you’re getting at right now [emoji4] You need as much insulation as the thermal protection certificate requires for this building component. Whether it’s on the slab or underneath doesn’t really matter in principle, to achieve the thermal insulation value. Traditionally, insulation is mainly done on the slab, under the heated screed. This is cost-effective because it can be made with EPS and the heat from the underfloor heating goes upwards, not downwards. Insulation is also applied under the screed of the upper floor (I think usually 6-8 cm), so that the underfloor heating there heats the upper floor instead of overheating the ground floor through the intermediate ceiling.

Interesting thread. I keep wondering whether a conventional underfloor heating system is supposed to be embedded in the concrete slab under the label "concrete core activation" (instead of the usual embedding in the screed above). Or whether the components of a single-family house are supposed to be thermally "activated" here (cf. concrete core activation in Wikipedia).

So what is it about?
