Hello,
We are new to the forum and hopefully soon the owners of a beautiful bungalow. However, due to space reasons, we want to convert the attic (we can get 50-60sqm of living space). It is apparently difficult to find a good place for the staircase. Is the hallway really not an option due to space reasons? Note on the floor plan: The door of the study is not on the slanted side but roughly opposite the kitchen door. The dining room would still be an idea. We would rather not "kill" the study. Oh, and the floor hatch is in the storage room.
Who can help us with ideas?!
Best regards kkjolly

What kind of roof does the bungalow have? What is the pitch and do you have a sectional drawing of it?

What purposes is the living space you are planning upstairs supposed to serve? And what type of staircase are you envisioning? Space-saving staircase? Or a proper staircase? What is the floor height of the bungalow, in other words, what height must be overcome up to the upper edge of the walkable surface in the attic?

It would also be useful to know how the rooms downstairs are each supposed to be used, or what all needs to be accommodated downstairs.

No one can help you like this.

Hello,
thanks for the quick hints! It is a hip roof, I don't know the pitch angle, but there is plenty of space in the middle with room to spare upwards. I am attaching a photo of the attic. Also a sectional drawing.
We want to accommodate a somewhat larger guest room upstairs (which might later become our bedroom) as well as another smaller room possibly as a second children's room. Possibly a storage room, but it's not a must.
Downstairs we want to sleep in the larger room, next to it our (currently only) child. The study should remain a study. Ceiling height downstairs is "normal," so I think 2.50 meters.
Thanks and regards!

But this is not a sectional drawing. And then the drawing is also without dimensions, who is supposed to guess anything from that?
And, story height, additionally the ceiling thickness between [EG] and [DG] plus room height would be a useful value.
Just like a statement about how the staircase is roughly intended.
