Hello everyone!
I am new here, and of course (who would have thought) I already have a few questions.
I want to redecorate my living room, and I've already checked out all kinds of furniture stores until I finally got stuck on the BESTÅ system from Ikea.
I simply liked it best in terms of design and modularity.
So I started planning before Easter.
But last week came the shock:
The BESTÅ DVD shelf 60x20x192cm is completely discontinued, and the DVD shelf 30x20x192cm is only available in white now.
And the FRAMSTÅ glass shelves 60x21cm (701.461.79) are also discontinued.
Great, of course with no announcements on the homepage...
My email inquiry about this has been unanswered for a week, so today I went to IKEA in Fürth.
And luckily they still had a few BESTÅ DVD shelves 60x20x192cm in beech (901.021.03) as remaining stock at a reduced price. How fitting that I wanted exactly this color.
So I packed two right away, no matter if I will really need them all later.
Unfortunately, the glass shelves were no longer available, probably all gone.
Does anyone know where I could still get them? I would need 2 to 4 pieces...
2 BESTÅ TV benches with FRAMSTÅ panel rows side by side, the TV will be hung in the middle, and glass shelves on the left and right next to it.
The TV is of course smaller, but in the planner only the 60" can be hung between two rows.
The gray drawers in the middle are supposed to represent the amplifier and DVD player.
And then I have a question about the FRAMSTÅ system:
You can cut holes for the cables in the FRAMSTÅ panel inserts, but how do the cables get into the panels?
I will probably mount the cabinets with a 1cm distance from the wall because of power and antenna cables, but the panels have to be mounted directly on the wall.
So how do I get my cables from the BESTÅ bench into the panels?
Do I have to saw holes in the side end rails, or how did the IKEA designers imagine this?
In the assembly instructions, you only see how the cables come out of the panel out, but not how they are supposed to come in the panel...
I would be thankful for tips!
Best regards, Stefan
