Are discounts on offers common?

I wanted to ask you if it is common to negotiate the price again with the craftsmen?
Are (partially) discounts then granted or are the prices in the offers usually fixed?

You can always ask questions, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Personally, I find craftsmen who calculate reasonably from the start always more likeable than those from whom you still get a 30% discount.

There is always something possible, however, the craftsmen calculate differently. We had everything from 20% to only 2% discount.

And, ultimately, you don't buy a discount, but a final price.

Discounts and cash discounts, let me tell you, these are added on beforehand... In my opinion, it can make a difference whether you inquire yourself or through an architect. If the craftsman is not particularly eager to get the job, which can definitely be the case depending on the region and the trade given the workload, then the offered price is sometimes the final price. My experience with architects is a range of 3-8% (offer and cash discount together). In some cases, an additional 10% on the material.

"2+3?" was always the last question right before the order. 2% cash discount, 3% rebate. It mostly worked. 2% cash discount almost always applied.
