The equipment for meaningful diagnosis/measurements generally costs <200€
- Digital thermometer with external sensor
- Hygrometer (for relative humidity)
- Moisture meter (capacitive, for water content of solid objects)
- ideally also a metal detector, because capacitive moisture meters cause false triggers
with metal in the wall (cross-check)
here you would record the window sash glass temperature with the digital thermometer
(sensor pressed with Styrofoam residue to the aluminum frame/glass),
i.e. whether it is significantly colder there than the surrounding room temperature,
if yes: insulation problems within the window sash construction
Moisture meter is rather needed for damp walls.
Without this it is just "groping in the fog with a stick"
