Our Plan B was a liquefied gas tank.

The house practically screams for pellets or gas.

A heat pump without facade insulation and removing the screed is absolute nonsense.

You always surprise me. Heat pump is out of the question because of the ugly outdoor unit, but a gas tank as Plan B is fine

when converting to underfloor heating, one would still have to consider installation height and additional weight. However, there are also dry/thin-layer systems.

Honestly? Gas tanks differ from stench by only one letter for a reason. Those things are really ugly and I wouldn't put one up. Since you already have the space from the old oil heating anyway, I would also lean towards pellets. It works with "normal" radiators, you can insulate, but you don't necessarily have to (from the heating perspective)...

So I don't read anything here about oil tanks or radiators. As far as I understand, there are only night storage heaters so far. A complete central heating system is due. Either expensive with underfloor heating and core renovation or cheaper with radiators.

This is heavily shortened. What bothers me most about the heat pump is the noise. The gas tank can be buried in the ground.
