Hello,

we are getting a ventilation system from Pluggit, which will be located in the basement.
The supply and exhaust air are to pass through a basement wall opening that ends in a small light well. Is that acceptable? I don't find the supply air below ground level very appealing.
Also, I think the supply and exhaust air are a bit too close together.
Are there guidelines that the construction company must follow?

Best regards,
Daniel

We have something similar, however our air shafts are sized as large as your window light shaft...

Didn't you misunderstand something there? So, the fresh air is drawn in through a separate pipe with us. The air for the heat pump comes through a light well.

I would choose the position of the fresh air wisely. For example, on the north side and not near the chimney.

We have a central ventilation system from Zehnder in the basement, supply and exhaust air each solved with a light well, so below ground floor level. That works excellently. I understood the question of the OP regarding the ventilation system, not regarding a heat pump.

Exactly! I mean the controlled residential ventilation. Are there problems with icing on the exhaust air shaft?

Traveling - I cannot make any statement about that. We have only been using it since spring. Our architect planned it that way and also implemented it like this in other construction projects. Allegedly, it works like that, even in winter.
