Yes, especially in combination with photovoltaics, I find the air conditioning very useful!

What do you mean by not working against each other? What should I pay attention to here?

That the ventilation systems should run on basic ventilation as much as possible during heat periods and switch back to normal or intensive preferably automatically when it gets cooler outside. Furthermore, shading should be considered to help save energy. Presence also plays a role.

It is counterproductive to run the air conditioning at full capacity while pumping warm air in from outside.

etc.

Those are great tips. Thank you very much! Regarding the position of the indoor air conditioning units, is there anything to consider? Should they be as far away as possible or even close to the air outlets or exhausts of the ventilation system?

No, that is irrelevant. The unit, which should cool as much of the house as possible, must, however, be located at the top of the stairwell. In the bedrooms, preferably do not blow directly onto the beds.

Exciting topic, which is also currently coming up for us. We will have a KFW55 house (KG/EG/OG/DG) and have now received an offer for a multisplit air conditioning system with 4 indoor units (1x EG living/dining, 2x OG bedroom & children's rooms, and 1x DG) for €9000. That is basically too much for me, I would currently tend to install only one air conditioner in the living/dining area and one in the DG. We have no ventilation, but I hope that there would also be a positive effect in the OG, the open "stairwell" goes up from the living/dining room. Am I right in this or will it hardly have any effect on the bedrooms on the 1st OG?
