Advantages and Disadvantages: Raffstore or Roller Shutters?

Hello! We are considering whether to choose [Raffstore] or roller shutters. Originally, I wanted roller shutters because it seems to me that they offer better burglary protection. An architect wants to talk us out of it, as roller shutters would also be very easy to break open. With almost the same burglary protection, he says, [Raffstore] are much more pleasant and offer more flexibility. Well, so far we have only had roller shutters or interior blinds, so we lack direct comparisons. Do you also see it that roller shutters are not much "safer" than [Raffstore]? Can you think of other pros and cons?

The security is the same in standard version for both systems, namely almost zero. Roller shutters are also available in RC2 and higher, but that costs a lot due to significantly more massive components and more complex installation. In addition, most RC2 roller shutters no longer have light slits.

So it's not that roller shutters are Fort Knox, but I believe they do provide a bit more of a barrier than venetian blinds. Otherwise, off the top of my head:

Make it dark
Can stay down during storms

Advantage of venetian blinds:

Appearance (of course, a matter of taste)
Shading without making it completely dark

You could also mix if the different appearance doesn't bother you

We have both variants, [Raffstores (mit Schienenführung)] and [Rollläden]. In the living area, the [Raffstores] are great, you can regulate the amount of light and the incidence of light well, while still being able to see out the window. With [Rollläden], it is either bright or dark. Disadvantages of [Raffstores] are that it does not get as dark as with [Rollläden] (there are also blackout [Raffstores], but it is not as dark as with [Rollläden]) and they are susceptible to wind; in stormy weather, they should be rolled up.

With roller shutters, you can provide shading without making everything completely dark. However, they are sensitive to storms and significantly (!) more expensive. It could therefore become a problem in the bathroom if there is a floor-to-ceiling window facing the street.

We have also mixed it. [Raffstores] are planned throughout the entire living area.
