My windows were also ordered according to the plan. According to the window fitter, this is unusual, but he spoke with my bricklayer and he assured him that everything would fit. The windows were installed one day after the shell construction was completed, and everything actually fit perfectly. This really worked in my favor regarding the construction time.

Advance payment for a goods delivery is a loan to the supplier.

Does the bank give you a loan without any check? Does the bank give you a loan without any collateral?
No!

But you as a small customer should give the supplier credit without any check and without any security.

Well, I don't do that. Not even a hundred euros.

The safe way is to order based on measurements and not according to the plan. That is the usual way and not the other way around. Recently, however, this has become increasingly difficult due to delivery problems.

How high should the discount be? Who is the contracting party towards the [Febsterlieferanten]?

There are/were divided opinions here in the forum about Drutex, as far as I know. However, our builder generally does not install anything cheap (in the sense of "inferior"), and I cannot imagine that he makes an exception when it comes to the windows.

The discount is 10%. We will make the installment payments to the general contractor. The general contractor will then conclude the subcontracts with the window dealer. I think the window dealer is the one who ultimately receives the discount from the manufacturer.

It went the same way for us. After the shell construction, no one came by anymore to measure. That's why I checked the shell dimensions myself with a laser measuring device, and after the fifth or sixth measurement, I only had deviations in the millimeter range, so I knew where the confidence in the measurements came from. There were top bricklayers at work. Among those few measurements, I even had two that matched the plan exactly – down to the millimeter. Of course, it might look slightly different two rows of bricks further, but I was impressed. The windows then fit perfectly; the compression tapes barely had to bridge a 2 cm gap to seal.

I repeat, I wouldn’t even risk that for a €5,000 saving. I may have missed which window manufacturer that is, but if they get many customers to advance payment quickly, they might come up with stupid ideas with the money they suddenly have. And who knows, maybe in the fine print it says that B-stock windows may be delivered for the "price adjustment." I am rather skeptical about such offers.
