My windows were also ordered according to the plan. According to the window manufacturer, this is unusual, but he spoke with my bricklayer, who assured him that everything would fit. The windows were installed one day after the shell construction was completed, and everything actually fit perfectly. This really worked in my favor regarding the construction timeline.
It went the same way for us. After the shell construction, no one came by anymore to measure. That's why I checked the shell dimensions myself with a laser measuring device, and after the fifth or sixth measurement, I only had deviations in the millimeter range, so I knew where the confidence in the measurements came from. There were top bricklayers at work. Among those few measurements, I even had two that matched the plan exactly – down to the millimeter. Of course, it might look slightly different two rows of bricks further, but I was impressed. The windows then fit perfectly; the compression tapes barely had to bridge a 2 cm gap to seal.
I repeat, I wouldn’t even risk that for a €5,000 saving. I may have missed which window manufacturer that is, but if they get many customers to advance payment quickly, they might come up with stupid ideas with the money they suddenly have. And who knows, maybe in the fine print it says that B-stock windows may be delivered for the "price adjustment." I am rather skeptical about such offers.
