I also see a lot of hot air here. I would simply submit the building application and wait to see what happens. The omission applied to the previous building permit, didn't it? You want to build something different anyway, right?

Pointless discussion. If you stick to the development plan, the neighbor can make as many "objections" as he wants. He will not be able to prevent the construction.
Anyone who objects to a construction that complies with the DP is probably dissatisfied with their life and definitely the one lacking social skills.
Moreover, such (unjustified) objections are dismissed in no time.

I'll give it a try too...: no one is saying that you bear any guilt or anything like that so far. but everyone here tells you that it would be helpful to simply go over to the neighbors, say who you are, what you intend to do, that you hope for a good neighborhood, etc. so basically approach the people and in this way 1. you can find out if/who might have something against your construction project and 2. you might be able to dispel these concerns right away because the person in question realizes that you or your planned house aren't as terrible as feared after all

Take the plugs out of your ears, you’ve been told this several times already: clever behavior would be to simply introduce yourself in a friendly way as a measure to build sympathy: "Hello, I’m Tommy. Your beautiful house stands here all alone, so I thought I’d put mine next to it."

Are you afraid they might like you? - maybe they’ve long wished for a Tommy as a neighbor.

If you want to take away their fear that you’re exactly the same jerk as the previous owner, then you’re currently behaving in the most counterproductive way.

In that sense, rather: six with stars and merit cards, in Bavaria you’d even get a holy picture on top - in this case, exceptionally even for a damn Protestant from Prussia.

Sorry, but somehow I find what you’re writing a bit nonsense. It may be that this is handled that way in a Bavarian village with Weißwurst and pretzels. But not in a metropolitan area. I have been to the property 3-4 times so far for appointments, I don’t work or live there yet. Construction hasn’t even started etc. I wouldn’t go around the neighborhood beforehand with a present basket and introduce myself. When construction starts, one would certainly have met and introduced themselves.

Again, the time would still have come but in my opinion, there was much too early intervention without any knowledge. Anyone who wants to know something asks and does not complain in advance without any substance. I did meet one neighbor, the direct one, and everything was wonderful! How often do I have to say it, I am not yet at a stage where one had to have introduced oneself or anything of the sort. The timing can be debated but certainly not weeks before a construction date.
