2 wires or LAN for video doorbell?

However, I have to ask again, where is the difference for me as a user between having a 2-wire bus line installed or alternatively a LAN cable. What can one do better than the other? I am a bit confused and don’t know what to tell the electrician. Alternatively, I have considered getting a “normal” doorbell and setting up a separate camera with a motion detector or something like that. Then I would be notified when there is movement and could view the camera image. Is there an adequate solution for this? Or am I overcomplicating things? Thanks again.

If you can’t decide yet, just have both installed. What you don’t need, simply don’t connect. Super easy. Or just LAN cable. You can use it as a 2-wire connection if you don’t attach a LAN socket.

Personally, I always find that too complicated. With ready-made solutions, I would personally be very dissatisfied – if there is anything usable at all – or you tinker/program yourself. Would that be something for you? Better get an integrated camera and doorbell system, unless you really want to get deeply technical. You could also communicate your requirements to the electrician. Is he experienced enough?

Since the electrician was chosen by the developer, you always have to be a bit careful. Of course, something is quickly sold here just like that...
